Product Overview
The ASC WA04/06 series offers general-purpose chip resistor arrays designed for reduced final equipment size and lower assembly costs. These components are RoHS compliant and lead-free, providing high component and equipment reliability. They are constructed with a high-grade ceramic body and feature internal metal electrodes connected by a resistive paste, precisely trimmed by laser. The resistive layer is protected by a coating, and the end terminations are tin-plated for ease of soldering. Available in convex and concave types, these resistors are suitable for a wide range of consumer electronics, EDP, and telecom applications.

Marking
3-digits marking for E24 series 1% ,5% products. Each resistor is marked with a three digits code on the protective coating to designate the nominal resistance value. For values up to 9.1 the R is used as a decimal point. For values of 10.0 or greater the first 2 digits apply to the resistance value and the third indicate the number of zeros to follow. Example: RESISTANCE 4.7 -> 4R7, 10 -> 100, 100 -> 101, 6800 -> 682, 47000 -> 473. No marking for WA04Y chip resistors array and E96 series resistance.
Functional Description
Standard values of nominal resistance are taken from the E24 series for resistors with a tolerance of 5% and from the E24/E96 series for resistors with a tolerance of 1%, in accordance with IEC publication 60063. The power that the resistor can dissipate depends on the operating temperature; see Fig.3 for derating curves.
Mounting and Soldering
Surface Mountable Resistors are suitable for automatic placement systems due to their rectangular shapes and small tolerances. They can be mounted on ceramic substrates and printed-circuit boards (PCBs). Electrical connection is by individual soldering. The end terminations guarantee a reliable contact. The robust construction allows immersion in a solder bath of 260C for 10 seconds. Typical soldering processes are shown in Fig 4. Surface Mount Resistors are tested for solderability at 235C for 2 seconds. The test condition for no leaching is 260C for 30 seconds.
