Marking

3-digits marking for E24 series 1% ,5% products. For values up to 9.1 the R is used as a decimal point. For values of 10.0 or greater the first 2 digits apply to the resistance value and the third indicates the number of zeros to follow. No marking for WA04Y chip resistors array and E96 series resistance.

Functional Description

Standard values of nominal resistance are taken from the E24 series for resistors with a tolerance of 5%, and E24/E96 series for resistors with a tolerance of 1%. The power dissipation capability of the resistor is dependent on the operating temperature, as illustrated in Fig. 3.

Mounting and Soldering

These Surface Mountable Resistors are suitable for automatic placement systems and can be mounted on ceramic substrates and printed-circuit boards (PCBs). The end terminations ensure reliable electrical connection through individual soldering. The robust construction allows immersion in a solder bath of 260C for 10 seconds. They are tested for solderability at 235C for 2 seconds, with a no-leaching condition at 260C for 30 seconds. Typical soldering profiles are provided in Fig. 4.
