Product Overview
The ASC WA04/06 series are general-purpose chip resistor arrays designed for surface mounting. These resistors offer advantages such as small size, light weight, reduced equipment size, lower assembly costs, and higher reliability. They are RoHS compliant and lead-free. Applications include consumer electrical equipment, EDP, computer applications, and telecom. The resistors are constructed with a high-grade ceramic body and feature internal metal electrodes connected by a resistive paste, trimmed to value by laser cutting. The resistive layer is protected by a coating, and the end terminations are Tin (lead-free) alloy for ease of soldering.

Marking
3-digits marking for E24 series 1% ,5% products. For values up to 9.1 the R is used as a decimal point. For values of 10.0 or greater the first 2 digits apply to the resistance value and the third indicates the number of zeros to follow. Example: 4.7 = 4R7, 10 = 100, 100 = 101, 6800 = 682, 47000 = 473. No marking for WA04Y chip resistors array and E96 series resistance.
Functional Description
Standard values of nominal resistance are taken from the E24 series for 5% tolerance and E24/E96 series for 1% tolerance, in accordance with IEC publication 60063. Derating is based on operating temperature as shown in Fig. 3.
Mounting and Soldering
Suitable for automatic placement systems on ceramic substrates and PCBs. Electrical connection by soldering. End terminations guarantee reliable contact. Can be immersed in solder bath of 260C for 10 seconds. Tested for solderability at 235C for 2 seconds. No leaching at 260C for 30 seconds. Typical soldering profiles are shown in Fig. 4.
Test and Requirements (JIS C 5201-1 : 1998)
Tests are carried out according to IEC publication 115-8, category LCT/UCT/56. Testing also meets EIA, EIAJ, and JIS requirements. Standard atmospheric conditions: Temperature: 15C to 35C, Relative humidity: 45% to 75%, Air pressure: 86kPa to 106 kPa. All soldering tests are performed with mildly activated flux.
