Marking
3-digits marking for E24 series 1% ,5% products. For values up to 9.1 the R is used as a decimal point. For values of 10.0 or greater the first 2 digits apply to the resistance value and the third indicates the number of zeros to follow. Example: 4.7 = 4R7, 10 = 100, 100 = 101, 6800 = 682, 47000 = 473. No marking for WA04Y chip resistors array and E96 series resistance.
Functional Description
Standard values of nominal resistance are taken from the E24 series for 5% tolerance and E24/E96 series for 1% tolerance, in accordance with IEC publication 60063. Power dissipation is dependent on ambient temperature; refer to derating curves.
Mounting
Suitable for automatic placement systems due to their rectangular shapes and small tolerances. Can be mounted on ceramic substrates and printed-circuit boards (PCBs). Electrical connection is by individual soldering conditions. End terminations guarantee reliable contact.
Soldering Condition
Robust construction allows immersion in a solder bath of 260C for 10 seconds. Can be mounted on one side of a PCB with other discrete components on the reverse. Tested for solderability at 235C for 2 seconds. No leaching condition: 260C for 30 seconds. Refer to Fig 4 for typical soldering profiles.
Test and Requirements (JIS C 5201-1 : 1998)
Tests are carried out according to IEC publication 115-8, category LCT/UCT/56. Also meets EIA, EIAJ and JIS requirements. Standard atmospheric conditions: Temperature: 15C to 35C, Relative humidity: 45% to 75%, Air pressure: 86kPa to 106 kPa. All soldering tests performed with mildly activated flux.
