Product Overview

The ASC WA04/06 series offers general-purpose chip resistor arrays designed for high-density surface mounting. These resistors provide small size, light weight, and reduced final equipment size, leading to lower assembly costs and improved reliability. They are RoHS compliant and lead-free. Applications include consumer electrical equipment, EDP, computer applications, and telecom. The resistors are constructed with a high-grade ceramic body, internal metal electrodes, and a resistive paste trimmed by laser. The resistive layer is protected by a coating, and end terminations are tin-plated for easy soldering.

Marking

3-digits marking for E24 series 1% ,5% products. For values up to 9.1 the R is used as a decimal point. For values of 10.0 or greater the first 2 digits apply to the resistance value and the third indicates the number of zeros to follow. Example: 4.7 = 4R7, 10 = 100, 100 = 101, 6800 = 682, 47000 = 473. No marking for WA04Y chip resistors array and E96 series resistance.

Functional Description

Standard values of nominal resistance are taken from the E24 series for 5% tolerance resistors and E24/E96 series for 1% tolerance resistors, in accordance with IEC publication 60063. Power dissipation is dependent on operating temperature as shown in Fig.3.

Mounting and Soldering

Suitable for automatic placement systems on ceramic substrates and printed-circuit boards (PCBs). Electrical connection is by individual soldering. End terminations guarantee reliable contact. Chip resistors can be immersed in a solder bath of 260C for 10 seconds. Tested for solderability at 235C for 2 seconds. No leaching at 260C for 30 seconds. Infrared soldering profile for Chip Resistors array is provided in Fig 4.
