Product Overview

The IHCL-4040DZ-5A is a low-profile, high-current coupled inductor from Vishay Dale, designed for high-temperature applications up to 155 C. It features shielded construction, a frequency range up to 5.0 MHz, and offers the lowest DCR/H in its package size. This inductor handles high transient current spikes without saturation and provides ultra-low buzz noise due to its composite construction. With coupling greater than 90%, it is optimized for SEPIC converters. The product is AEC-Q200 qualified and patent pending.

Notes

  • All test data is referenced to 25 C ambient.
  • Operating temperature range: -55 C to +155 C.
  • The part temperature (ambient + temp. rise) should not exceed 155 C under worst-case operating conditions.
  • Rated operating voltage (across inductor) = 50 V.
  • For SEPIC operation, please limit VIN and VOUT to 25 V max.
  • Note (1): DC current (A) that will cause an approximate T of 40 C.
  • Note (2): DC current (A) that will cause L0 to drop approximately 20 %.
  • Note (3): In this configuration, current flowing in opposite directions through coils cancels and the 0.6 H inductance is very stable with varying current. Observe the heat rating current to avoid excessive temperature rise in this configuration.
