The Vishay Sprague 298D and 298W series are solid tantalum chip capacitors featuring small footprints (0603 and 0402) and lead (Pb)-free L-shaped face-down terminations. They are available in 8 mm tape and reel packaging per EIA-481 and IEC 60286-3. These capacitors are suitable for surface mount applications and have a moisture sensitivity level of 1. The 298D offers a capacitance range from 0.33 F to 220 F, while the 298W provides an extended range from 2.2 F to 220 F. Both series support a capacitance tolerance of 20% standard, with 10% available, and a voltage range from 2.5 VDC to 50 VDC.
