Usage Precautions
For ultra-high resistance values (hundreds of K ohms and above), the thin film layer can be prone to occasional failures, especially in humid environments. Consider using MG High Voltage Surge Resistors or CHIP resistors for such applications. For low and ultra-low resistance precision metal film resistors where temperature coefficient or current capability is critical, KN Wire Wound Resistors are recommended. Precision metal film resistors have a thinner film layer compared to other thin-film types, making them less resistant to pulses; avoid using high resistance values in high-pulse or continuous pulse circuits. Due to the high-temperature oxidation susceptibility of the conductive layer, pay attention to surface temperature rise and surrounding heat dissipation for high-power products. Avoid fixing or potting with adhesives on the resistor surface, as this can impede heat dissipation and potentially cause electrochemical reactions leading to failure.
