Product Overview

This specification covers EH series Radial Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors. The specifications are established in consultation with JIS-C-5101 and JIS-C-5141.

Test Environment

Unless otherwise specified, the standard range of atmospheric conditions for making measurements and tests are as follows: Ambient temperature: 252C, Relative humidity: 655%.

Product Characteristics

Electrical Characteristics

  • Rated voltage and Operating Temperature: -40~105 (6.3~120V.DC)
  • Capacitance: Test frequency: 120Hz 20%, Measuring circuit: Series equivalent circuit, Measuring voltage: 1Vrms. Criteria: Capacitance tolerance: 20%
  • Dissipation Factor: Test conditions are the same as Capacitance. Criteria: See Table 1.
  • Leakage Current: Conditions: The rated voltage shall be applied across the capacitors and its protective resistor which shall be 100010%. The leakage current shall then be measured after an electrification period of 2 min. Criteria: DC: 6.3~120V.DC, I0.01CV or 3uA, whichever is greater (I: Leakage Current (), C: Capacitance (F), V: Rated voltage (V)).
  • High and Low Temperature Characteristic: Conditions: Step 1: 202, Step 2: -40-3+0 for 120min, Step 3: 202, Step 4: 105-0+3 for 120min. Criteria: Step 2: Impedance value comparison with step 1, not more than Table 2 requires. Step 4: Capacity value change compared to step 1 is within 20%.
  • Surge Voltage Test: Conditions: Apply the surge voltage listed in Table 3, charge for 305 seconds, discharge for 3305 seconds as a cycle, a total of 1000 cycles. Test temperature: 15~35. Then store under standard atmospheric conditions for thermal stability, after which measurements are made. Criteria: Capacitance Change: Within 20% of initial value. Dissipation Factor: Not more than 200% of the specified value in Table 1. Leakage Current: To satisfy No. 4.1.4.

Mechanical Characteristics

  • Tensile strength of termination: Conditions: At Room temperature, along the lead line down the direction of the terminal on the application of tension (as shown in the following table), maintain 51 seconds.
