Important Usage Notes

  1. Electrolytic capacitors require polarization. Reversed polarity can shorten life or damage the capacitor. Use bi-polarized capacitors for circuits with unknown or occasionally reversed polarity. Not suitable for AC applications.
  2. Do not exceed the voltage rating. Exceeding the rating can damage the capacitor. When AC voltage is superimposed on DC, ensure the peak value does not exceed the rated voltage.
  3. Use within permissible ripple current range. For higher ripple current applications, consult for specialized capacitors.
  4. Operate within the specified temperature range. Usage at room temperature ensures longer life.
  5. Not suitable for circuits with frequent charge and discharge cycles. This can lead to capacitance drop or damage. Consult engineering for assistance.
  6. Apply voltage treatment to capacitors that have been stored for a long time to prevent increased leakage current and overheating. No treatment needed if stored for less than 2-3 years at normal temperature.
  7. Be careful of temperature and time when soldering. For small-sized capacitors, dipping at <260 for <10 seconds is acceptable.
  8. Do not place a soldering iron on the capacitor body.
