Load Life
Capacitors shall satisfy the following specifications when restored to 20 after rated voltage with rated ripple current is applied (peak voltage shall not exceed rated voltage) for 5,000 hours at 105 (2,000 hours for 6.3):
- Capacitance change: 20% of initial value
- Tan: 200% of initial specified value
- Leakage current: Initial specified value
Shelf Life
Capacitors shall satisfy the following specifications when restored to 20 after exposing them for 1,000 hours at 105 without voltage applied. Rated voltage shall be applied for a minimum of 30 minutes, at least 24 hours and not more than 48 hours before measurements:
- Capacitance change: 20% of initial value
- Tan: 200% of initial specified value
- Leakage current: 500% of initial specified value
