Important Usage Notes
- Electrolytic capacitors require polarization. Reversed polarity can shorten life or damage the capacitor. Use bi-polarized capacitors for circuits with occasional or unknown polarity. Not suitable for AC applications.
- Do not exceed the rated voltage. Peak voltage of AC superimposed on DC must not exceed the rated voltage.
- Operate within the permissible ripple current range. Request high ripple current capacitors if specified values are exceeded.
- Use within the specified operating temperature range. Usage at room temperature ensures longer life.
- Not suitable for circuits with frequent charge and discharge cycles. Consult engineering for assistance.
- Apply voltage treatment to capacitors stored for extended periods to prevent increased leakage current and internal heat generation. (No treatment needed for storage less than 2-3 years at normal temperature).
- Be careful of temperature and time when soldering. For small-sized capacitors, avoid soldering temperatures above 260 and dipping times longer than 10 seconds.
- Do not place a soldering iron on the body of the capacitor to avoid damage to the vinyl sleeve.
