Reliability and product life:

  • Main failure mode is short-circuit due to thermal, electrical, and mechanical stress.
  • Failure rate is specified based on 0.5%*/1000 h (reliability level 60%).
  • Do not use in high impedance circuits, coupling circuits, time constant circuits, or circuits significantly affected by leakage currents.
  • Leakage currents may increase due to stress but have self-recovery function.
  • Apply protection circuit if rush current exceeds specified limits.
  • Case is not insulated from cathode terminal; isolate completely.

Mounting and storage conditions:

  • Soldering with soldering iron: Avoid stress on body and terminals; do not allow iron tip to touch the body.
  • Flow soldering: Not for surface mount type; do not immerse body in molten solder. Solder only on the opposite side of the circuit board.
  • Reflow soldering: Not for radial lead type.
  • Handling after soldering: Avoid tilting, knocking over, twisting, or moving the circuit board by grabbing the product.
  • Storage after opening bag: Surface mount type within 30 days; radial lead type (bagged) within 7 days; radial lead type (taped) within 7 days.
