Product Overview
The onsemi NCP107x series integrates a fixed-frequency, current-mode controller with a 700 V MOSFET, designed for low-power offline Switch-Mode Power Supplies (SMPS). These devices offer a high level of integration, including soft-start, frequency-jittering, short-circuit protection, skip-cycle, a maximum peak current set point, ramp compensation, and Dynamic Self-Supply (DSS) to eliminate the need for an auxiliary winding. The NCP107x series operates quietly by switching at fixed frequencies (65, 100, or 130 kHz) during nominal load and automatically enters frequency foldback and skip modes at lower power demands to improve efficiency and reduce standby consumption. Protection features include overload/short-circuit detection, auto-recovery overvoltage protection, and AC input line voltage detection. For improved standby performance, an auxiliary winding connection can stop DSS operation, reducing input power consumption below 50 mW at high line. Typical applications include auxiliary/standby isolated power supplies for white goods, smart meters, and e-meters.
