Application Guidelines Summary:

  • Circuit Design: Ensure operating conditions are within catalog specifications. Respect operating temperature and ripple current limits. Capacitors are polarized; avoid reverse/AC voltage. Use non-polar types for circuits with potential polarity reversal. Avoid rapid charge/discharge circuits unless using special design capacitors. Do not exceed rated voltage (consider peak voltage). Use balancing resistors for series capacitors. Standard sleeves are not electrically insulating. Do not connect blank terminals of snap-in types. Avoid water, brine, oil, toxic gases, ozone, UV, radiation, and excessive vibration/shock. Ensure proper PC board hole spacing and clearance above safety vents. For screw terminal capacitors, avoid end seal side down mounting; positive terminal should be upper in horizontal mount. Electrolyte is conductive and combustible.
  • Mounting: Do not reuse assembled capacitors in other circuits. Discharge capacitors before handling (1k resistor). Voltage treatment may be needed for capacitors stored >6 months. Confirm ratings and polarity before installation. Do not drop or deform capacitors. Ensure lead spacing matches PC board hole spacing. Snap-in types should be installed tightly to the PC board. Avoid excessive clinch force during automatic insertion.

  • Disposal: Dispose of as industrial waste through specialists.
