Application Guidelines
Circuit Design: Ensure operating conditions are within catalog specifications. Respect operating temperature and ripple current limits. Capacitors are polarized; use non-polar types for reversed polarity circuits. Avoid rapid charge/discharge cycles unless using special design capacitors. Do not exceed rated voltage; use balancing resistors for series connections. Outer sleeve is not insulated; ensure proper insulation for required applications. Avoid water, brine, oil, toxic gases, ozone, UV, and radiation exposure. Ensure proper PC board hole spacing and clearance above safety vents. Do not install screw terminal capacitors with end seal side down or horizontally with positive terminal down. Electrolyte is conductive and combustible.
Mounting: Do not reuse assembled capacitors in other circuits. Discharge capacitors before handling. Leakage current may increase after prolonged storage; perform voltage treatment if necessary. Confirm ratings and polarity before installation. Handle with care to avoid deformation or dropping. Snap-in types should be installed tightly to the PC board. Ensure proper clinch force and avoid mechanical shock during automated insertion.
Soldering: Adhere to specified soldering temperatures and times for Pb/Sn and Pb-free types. Do not tilt, lay down, twist, or carry PC boards by soldered capacitors. Avoid touching capacitors after soldering. Do not clean with halogenated cleaning agents. For fixing and coating materials, avoid halogenated ingredients and ensure proper flux removal and drying. Apply coating materials partially.
Storage: Store at 5C to 35C, <75% RH, out of direct sunlight. Capacitors stored for over a year may require voltage aging treatment.
Disposal: Dispose of as industrial waste through licensed specialists.
Printed Circuit Board Cleaning: Halogen type solvents can permeate capacitors and cause corrosion. Use water or alcohol-based cleaning agents, or mount capacitors on pre-cleaned boards. Solvent-resistant rubber end seals are recommended. Penetration channels include clearances between rubber and case/leads, and permeation through the end seal.
Basic Electrical Characteristics: Capacitance is measured at 120Hz, 0.5Vrms AC with DC bias. Tan is the ratio of resistive to capacitive reactance. ESR is influenced by internal resistances and temperature. Impedance varies with frequency and temperature, with capacitive reactance dominating at low frequencies, ESR at mid-frequencies, and inductive reactance at high frequencies. Leakage current is a small DC current that flows to reform the oxide layer, influenced by temperature and voltage.
Quality Policy: SAMXON is committed to total quality management for customer satisfaction, process mastery, continuous improvement, enhanced productivity, and innovation.
Manufacturing and quality assurance procedures: Encompass incoming inspection, in-process monitoring (SPC), final inspection, and dispatch approval, covering all stages from raw material to finished product.
Environmental: SAMXON is committed to environmental protection, reducing consumption, preventing hazards, and promoting environmental awareness.
Compliance with RoHS Directive: Products comply with EU RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU) regarding hazardous substances.
Halogen Free Compliant: Products meet specified maximum limits for Bromine and Chlorine.
