Product Overview

The SAMXON GT Series Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors are polar, foil-type capacitors designed for use in electronic equipment. These capacitors meet IEC60384 standards and are constructed with a single-ended, wound element impregnated with electrolyte, enclosed in an aluminum case and sealed with end seal rubber, finished with a PET vinyl sleeve. They are suitable for general electronic applications requiring stable performance across a wide temperature range.

Environment-related Substances

Refer to the latest document of Environment-related Substances standard (WI-HSPM-QA-072). Controlled substances include heavy metals (Cadmium, Lead, Mercury, Hexavalent chromium), chlorinated organic compounds (PCB, PCN, PCT, SCCP), brominated organic compounds (PBB, PBDE), TBT, TPT, Asbestos, specific azo compounds, formaldehyde, beryllium oxide, beryllium copper, specific phthalates, HFC, PFC, PFOS, and specific Benzotriazole.

Application Guidelines

Circuit Design: Electrical parameters vary with temperature and frequency. Consider effects on leakage current, capacitance, and ESR. Avoid reverse voltage, repeating charge/discharge, over voltage, and excessive ripple current. For series/parallel connections, consider voltage and current balancing. Mounting considerations include avoiding shorts on double-sided boards, proper hole spacing, clearance for pressure relief vents, and avoiding high voltage/current wiring near vents. Ensure electrical isolation. Product endurance should be based on samples. Collect date code within 6 months for load/shelf life tests. The vinyl sleeve is for identification and not for insulation.

Capacitor Handling Techniques: Do not reuse capacitors from used equipment. Discharge transient recovery voltage if necessary. Recondition capacitors stored for long periods by applying rated voltage with a current-limiting resistor. Avoid using dropped, dented, or crushed capacitors. Verify capacitance, rated voltage, and polarity before insertion. Ensure auto insertion equipment does not stress leads. Observe soldering temperature and time specifications, avoid stressing leads during formation or reinsertion, and do not touch the capacitor body with a soldering iron. For flow soldering, do not immerse the capacitor body. Avoid rapid temperature rises during preheating and resin bonding. Avoid movement after soldering to prevent stress on leads. Do not use capacitors as handles. Avoid striking capacitors after assembly. Circuit board cleaning requires suitable solvents, rinsing, and thorough drying. Avoid ozone-depleting, halogenated, alkali, petroleum-based, xylene, or acetone solvents unless specified. Monitor contamination levels. When using mounting adhesives or coating agents, avoid halogenated solvents and chloroprene-based polymers.

Precautions for using capacitors: Do not store or use capacitors outside rated temperature ranges, in contact with water/salt water/oil, high humidity, toxic gases, ozone, radiation, or excessive vibration/shock. Avoid touching terminals due to electric shock risk. Do not short circuit terminals. In case of pressure relief vent operation, immediately turn off equipment. Avoid contact with escaping electrolyte gas. Follow first aid procedures for eye/mouth/skin contact. For long-term storage (over one year), recondition capacitors by applying rated voltage in series with a 1000 resistor for 30 minutes. Products over eighteen months should be returned for confirmation.

Capacitor Disposal: Incinerate after crushing or puncturing the can wall to prevent explosion. Incinerate at high temperatures to prevent toxic gas release. Dispose of as solid waste, following local laws.
