Usage Guidelines:

  • DC electrolytic capacitors are polarized; ensure correct polarity to avoid damage.
  • Bipolar capacitors are for pulse and polarity reverse circuits, not for pure AC or high ripple.
  • Do not exceed rated voltage; recommended working voltage is 70-80% of rated voltage.
  • Avoid excessive ripple current, generally not exceeding 80% of rated current.
  • Use specially designed capacitors for circuits with rapid charge/discharge cycles.
  • Operating temperature affects characteristics; lower temperatures prolong life.
  • Capacitor life is related to temperature; a 10 reduction can double life.
  • Capacitance decreases and dissipation factor increases with frequency.
  • Capacitors stored for extended periods may have increased leakage current and reduced withstand voltage; apply rated DC voltage treatment before use.
  • The capacitor case is not insulated from the cathode terminal; ensure insulation at the mounting point if required.
  • Do not apply excessive force to terminals or leads.
  • Use recommended cleaning solvents (e.g., methanol, isopropanol) after soldering; avoid halogenated solvents.
  • When soldering, maintain distance from the plastic sleeve; solder bath temperature should be within 260 for no more than 10 seconds.
  • Ensure correct hole layout on PCBs to avoid stress on leads and potential solder splashing.
