Product Usage Guidelines

  • Polarity: DC electrolytic capacitors are polarized. Ensure correct polarity to prevent damage. Use bipolar capacitors for uncertain polarity or AC applications.
  • Voltage: Do not exceed rated voltage. Recommended working voltage is 70-80% of rated voltage for extended life.
  • Ripple Current: Do not exceed permissible ripple current limits to prevent overheating and damage. Generally, not more than 80% of rated current.
  • Temperature: Capacitors are sensitive to temperature. Lower operating temperatures generally extend lifespan.
  • Storage: Capacitors stored for long periods may experience increased leakage current and reduced withstand voltage. Apply rated DC voltage treatment before use after prolonged storage.
  • Case Insulation: The capacitor case is not insulated from the cathode terminal. Ensure insulation at the mounting point if required.
  • Handling: Avoid applying excessive force to terminals and leads to prevent breakage or internal damage.
  • Soldering: Observe temperature and duration limits during soldering (e.g., 260C for max 10 seconds). Use recommended cleaning solvents.
  • Circuit Board Layout: Ensure proper hole spacing on PCBs to avoid stress on leads.
