Usage Guidelines
Polarity: DC electrolytic capacitors are polarized. Ensure correct polarity to prevent short circuits or damage. Use bipolar capacitors if polarity is uncertain. Not suitable for AC applications.
Voltage: Do not exceed rated voltage. Recommended working voltage is 70-80% of rated voltage for extended life.
Ripple Current: Do not exceed permissible ripple current to prevent overheating and damage. Generally not more than 80% of rated current.
Temperature: Characteristics vary with temperature. Lower operating temperatures ensure longer life. Relationship between temperature and life: Life doubles for every 10C decrease in temperature.
Frequency: Capacitance decreases and dissipation factor (tg) increases with rising frequency.
Storage: For capacitors stored long-term, apply rated DC voltage gradually before use to address increased leakage current and reduced withstand voltage.
Case Insulation: The capacitor case is not insulated from the cathode terminal. Implement insulation measures at the mounting point if case insulation is required.
Handling: Avoid applying excessive force to terminals and leads to prevent breakage or internal damage.
Cleaning: Use recommended solvents (methanol, isopropanol, etc.). Avoid halogenated solvents. Do not damage sleeve, marking, or sealing materials.
Soldering: Maintain distance from the plastic sleeve. Recommended solder bath temperature is within 260C for no more than 10 seconds.
PCB Layout: Ensure hole spacing on the PCB matches lead spacing to avoid stress on leads. Consider hole layout to prevent solder splashing onto the sleeve.
