Product Description

Product Overview

The LiteON C03 UV Product series is a revolutionary, energy-efficient light source designed for UV curing and common UV applications. It combines the long lifetime and reliability advantages of Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) with the brightness of conventional light sources. This series offers design freedom and creates new opportunities for solid-state UV light sources to displace conventional UV technologies. Key features include I.C. compatibility, RoHS compliance, and lower operating and maintenance costs.

User Guide

Suggested Reflow Soldering Characteristics

Refer to the provided soldering profile for reflow soldering. Lowest possible temperature is desirable. LiteOn cannot guarantee LEDs assembled using the dip soldering method.

Recommend Printed Circuit Board Attachment Pad

LEDs can be soldered using reflow or hand soldering. Recommended hand soldering: 300C max. and 2secs max. once. Reflow soldering: up to three times maximum. Avoid rapid cooling. LiteOn cannot guarantee LEDs assembled using the dip soldering method.

Tape Package Dimensions

Refer to provided diagrams for tape and reel package dimensions. 7 inch reel maximum 500 pieces per reel. Maximum consecutive missing lamps is two. In accordance with EIA-481-1-B specifications.

Cautions

Cleaning

Use alcohol-based cleaning solvents such as isopropyl alcohol. Do not use unspecified chemical liquids.

Drive Method

LEDs are current-operated devices. A current limiting resistor in series with each LED is recommended for intensity uniformity. Avoid continuous reverse current. Do not use sulfur-containing materials, high moisture (over 85% RH), dew condensation, briny air, or corrosive gases (Cl, H2S, NH3, SO2, NOX, etc.).

Manual Handling

Pick up LEDs by the sides of the body. Do not apply pressure to the lens. Do not puncture or push the lens.

ESD (Electrostatic Discharge)

Static electricity or power surge can damage LEDs. Use conductive wrist bands or anti-electrostatic gloves. Ensure all devices, equipment, and machinery are properly grounded. Work tables and storage racks should be grounded. Use an ion blower to neutralize static charge. ESD-damaged LEDs may exhibit abnormal characteristics. Verify functionality by checking "light up" and VF at low currents (>2.0V@0.5mA for good LEDs).

Storage

Product is qualified as Moisture sensitive Level 3 per JEDEC J-STD-020. Store sealed packages at 30C and 85% RH, use within one year. Once opened, store at 30C and 60% RH, solder within 168 hours. If Humidity Indicator shows pink or storage time is exceeded, bake at 60C for at least 24 hours before soldering. Return unused LEDs to the original package with desiccants.

Safety

Do NOT directly look at the UV light from the LED. Use UV goggles or protective glasses to avoid eye damage.
