LITE-ON LTR-91400 Optical Sensor
Product Overview
The LITE-ON LTR-91400 is an integrated, low-voltage I2C ambient light sensor (ALS), gesture sensor (GS), and proximity sensor (PS) housed in a single miniature ChipLED surface mount package. This device converts light intensity into a digital output signal with direct I2C interface capabilities. The gesture sensor detects object motion direction (East, West, North, South) based on reflected IR light. The ambient light sensor offers a linear response across a wide dynamic range, suitable for high brightness conditions. The built-in proximity sensor, with its configurable detection distance, enhances system efficiency by supporting an interrupt feature, eliminating the need for constant polling. Its CMOS design and factory-set trimming minimize sensor-to-sensor variations. Applications include display panel brightness control and object/motion detection in mobile, computing, and consumer devices.
