Environmental Characteristics

The device shall fulfill the specifications in 2.2 after undergoing the following tests:

  • High temperature exposure: Subject to +85 for 16 hours, then room conditions for 24 hours.
  • Low temperature exposure: Subject to -40 for 16 hours, then room conditions for 24 hours.
  • Temperature cycling: -45 for 30 minutes, +85 for 30 minutes, then room conditions for 24 hours.
  • Resistance to solder heat: Terminals dipped in solder bath at 260 10 for 101 sec (no closer than 1.5mm), then room conditions for 4 hours.
  • Solderability: Terminals dipped in solder bath at 2455 for 5s. More than 95% area of terminals must be covered with new solder.
  • Mechanical shock: Dropped randomly onto concrete floor from 1m height, 3 times.
  • Vibration: 1 hour each in x, y, and z axes with amplitude of 1.5 mm at 10 to 55 Hz.

Remarks

  • Static voltage: Avoid static voltage between signal load and ground as it may cause deterioration and destruction.
  • Ultrasonic cleaning: Avoid ultrasonic cleaning as it may cause deterioration and destruction.
  • Soldering: Only leads of the component may be soldered. Avoid soldering other parts of the component.
