The RK73H series of Flat Chip Resistors are precision-grade thick film resistors designed for a wide range of applications, including automotive, medical, and aerospace equipment. They offer small size, light weight, excellent heat and weather resistance due to their metal glaze thick film construction. The triple-layer electrode structure ensures high stability and reliability. These resistors are compatible with various automatic mounters and soldering methods, including reflow and wave soldering. They are RoHS compliant with lead-free terminations.

Precautions for Use

The substrate of chip resistors is alumina. Cracks may occur at the connection of solder (solder fillet portion) due to the difference of the coefficient of thermal expansion from the mounting board when heat stress like heat cycle, etc., is repeatedly applied. Care should be taken to the occurrence of cracks when ambient temperature changes or load ON/OFF is repeated, especially for larger types (W2H/W3A/W3A2) which have large thermal expansion and self-heating. For general temperature cycle tests using glass-epoxy (FR-4) boards under the maximum/minimum temperatures of the operating temperature range, cracks do not occur easily in types 1F to 2E, but tend to occur in types W2H/W3A/W3A2. Cracks due to thermal stress depend on factors such as the size of the mounted pad, solder amount, and heat dissipation of the mounting board. Therefore, careful design is required when using under conditions of significant ambient temperature changes or load ON/OFF cycles. RK73H1F resistors may be damaged by static electricity generated and applied during equipment assembly processes; please be aware of this.
