THICK FILM CHIP RESISTORS RK73B
The RK73B series offers a robust lineup of thick film chip resistors, available in sizes from 0402 to 6432. Featuring a metal glaze thick film for excellent heat and weather resistance, these resistors are suitable for both reflow and wave soldering. They are RoHS compliant, with exceptions for lead glass in electrodes, resistance film, and glass. AEC-Q200 data is available for most models.

Performance
The RK73B resistors are designed for various environmental conditions, including overload, solder heat, temperature cycling, humidity load, and high-temperature storage. Derating curves are provided for operation at elevated terminal temperatures.
Usage Precautions
- The ceramic substrate has a different thermal expansion coefficient than mounting boards, which can cause solder joint cracking under thermal stress. Larger sizes (W2H/W3A/W3A2) are more prone to this due to greater expansion and self-heating. Careful design consideration is needed for applications with significant temperature variations or load cycling.
- RK73B1F resistors are susceptible to damage from static electricity during assembly.
- When using at ambient temperatures of 70 or higher, rated power must be derated according to the power derating curve.
- When operating above the rated terminal temperature, derating is also required.
