KEMET R76 Series - Double Metallized Polypropylene Film Capacitors

The KEMET R76 Series is a range of double metallized polypropylene film capacitors designed for DC and pulse applications, including automotive grades. Constructed with a polypropylene film and double metallized polyester film as electrodes, these capacitors feature radial leads of tinned wire electrically welded to the metal layer. The capacitors are encapsulated in a self-extinguishing, solvent-resistant plastic case meeting UL 94V-0 requirements. They offer self-healing properties, RoHS compliance, and are available in tape and reel packaging. The R76 Series is suitable for high voltage and high current applications but not for across-the-line use.

Applications

Typical applications include deflection circuits in televisions (S-correction and flyback tuning) and monitors, switching spikes suppression in switched mode power supplies (SMPS), lamp capacitors for electronic ballasts and compact lamps, and snubber and silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR) commutation circuits. Also suitable for applications with high voltage and high current.
