The JIMSON ELECTRONICS (XIAMEN) CO.,LTD. MPP series capacitor is designed for general resonance circuits, DC pulse, high-frequency, and low-current applications. It offers high stability of capacitance and dissipation factor versus temperature and frequency, low dissipation factor, high insulation resistance, non-inductive and self-healing properties, and very small inherent temperature rise. This capacitor is ideal for applications requiring small size and superior performance, such as S-shaping correction circuits in color TV sets.

Important Terminology

Rated Capacitance: Expressed by a three-digit number (e.g., 224 = 220,000pF or 0.22uF). Units: 1F=1,000mF=1,000,000uF=1,000,000,000nF=1,000,000,000,000pF.

Capacitance Tolerance: Percentage deviation from rated capacitance. Symbols: F=1%, G=2%, J=5%, K=10%, M=20%, N=30%.

Dissipation Factor (DF): Measure of power loss in a capacitor under alternating voltage, typically measured at 20 and 1kHz. DF0.1% for standard specifications.

Insulation Resistance (IR): Measure of the capacitor's ability to retain charge. For C0.33uF, IR30000M. For C0.33uF, IR*C5000S. Measured at rated voltage or less than 100VDC for 1 minute at 20 and RH65%.

Self-healing: Metallized film capacitors can withstand a breakdown without a permanent short circuit as the thin metal layer around the weak point evaporates, isolating the defect.

Weatherability Testing Methods

High Temperature (85): Capacitance drift 5% max, DF < 0.2% (at 1kHz).

Low Temperature (-40): Capacitance drift -5% max, DF < 0.15% (at 1kHz).

Humidity (40, 90-95% RH for 964h, then 16h recovery): Capacitance drift 3% max, IR > 50% of initial value, DF < 0.20% (at 1kHz).

Caution

Soldering Suggestion: Maximum soldering temperature and bath time should be adhered to for optimal solderability.

Storage Environment and Conditions

Storage Environment: Store at temperature 30 and humidity 70%. Unopened MBB (Moisture Barrier Bag) ensures a 24-month shelf life.

Storage Condition: Avoid exposure to air containing corrosive substances. Do not expose to high temperature and high humidity. Maintain storage conditions as specified.
