Operating Precautions
Polarity: Hyncdz capacitors are polarized and must not be reversed. Reverse connection can lead to shortened lifespan due to increasing leakage current or short circuits.
Prohibited Circuits: Avoid use in high impedance, coupling, time constant, series connection for higher withstand voltage, or circuits sensitive to leakage current due to potential issues during soldering and other processes.
Over voltage: Do not exceed the rated voltage, even momentarily, as it may cause a short circuit.
Sudden Charge and Discharge: Avoid sudden charge and discharge. A protection circuit is recommended to prevent excessive rush current, which is a main cause of short circuits and leakage current increase. Use a protection resistor (approx. 1k) for charge/discharge during leakage current measurement.
Operating Temperature and Ripple Current: Exceeding the upper category temperature or excessive ripple current can shorten the capacitor's lifespan or cause failure.
Leakage Current: Leakage current may slightly increase after soldering. Applying DC voltage can self-repair the capacitor, gradually reducing leakage current.
Applied Voltage: For reliability, the applied voltage should ideally be less than 80% of the rated voltage. The peak value of DC and AC voltage should not exceed the rated voltage.
Marking
Each unit or its smallest packaging will be marked indelibly and legibly with: Series and trademark, Capacitance, Rated voltage, and Negative polarity.
