Usage Precautions

  • Polarized: Use with correct polarity to avoid short circuits or damage. Use non-polarized capacitors if polarity is uncertain.
  • Voltage Limits: Do not exceed rated voltage or apply reverse voltage. Recommended to use at rated voltage for optimal lifespan. Surge voltage is the maximum short-term withstand voltage.
  • Ripple Current: Keep ripple current below rated value to prevent overheating, capacitance reduction, and shortened lifespan. Peak ripple voltage plus DC voltage must be less than rated working voltage.
  • Temperature: Operate within the rated temperature range (-40 to +105). Higher temperatures significantly reduce lifespan. Lowering ambient temperature by 10 can double lifespan.
  • Long-term Storage: Leakage current may increase after prolonged storage, especially at higher temperatures. Apply voltage before use if increased leakage affects the circuit.
  • Frequent Charge/Discharge: Not suitable for circuits with frequent charge/discharge cycles, as it can lead to capacitance reduction or damage due to heat.
  • Installation: Avoid poor installation or stress on leads, which can cause internal damage, high leakage, or leaks. Ensure good soldering, proper PCB hole spacing, do not bend leads excessively, and do not bend or twist the capacitor body during soldering.
  • Soldering Heat: Prolonged or excessive soldering temperatures can cause sleeve cracking or shrinkage.
  • Cleaning: Do not use halogenated organic solvents for cleaning. If cleaning is necessary, use a cleaner that guarantees capacitor quality. Dry with hot air (not exceeding the upper limit temperature) for at least 10 minutes after cleaning.
  • Fixatives/Coatings: Avoid using halogenated organic fixatives or coatings. Do not seal the capacitor's sealing area with fixatives or coatings.
  • Disposal: Contact local industrial waste disposal services for end-of-life capacitors.
