Usage Precautions
- Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are polarized; ensure correct polarity during installation. Reverse connection can cause short circuits or damage.
- Do not apply reverse voltage or DC voltage exceeding the rated voltage. Exceeding rated voltage significantly increases leakage current and can lead to damage. Use within rated voltage for optimal lifespan.
- Ripple current should be kept below the rated value to prevent overheating, capacity reduction, and shortened lifespan. The sum of the peak ripple voltage and DC voltage must not exceed the rated working voltage.
- Operate within the rated temperature range. Exceeding the upper limit temperature will drastically reduce lifespan or activate the safety vent. Operating at room temperature ensures a longer lifespan; lifespan doubles for every 10C decrease in ambient temperature.
- Leakage current may increase after prolonged storage, especially at higher temperatures. If high leakage current impacts the circuit, pre-charge the capacitor before use.
- Not suitable for circuits with frequent charge/discharge cycles, as this can lead to capacity reduction due to anode oxidation or damage from generated heat.
- Improper installation or stress on leads can damage internal structure, leading to high leakage current or leakage. Ensure good soldering, correct PCB hole spacing, avoid bending leads, and do not bend or twist the capacitor body during soldering.
- Soldering or tinning at excessive temperatures or durations may cause sleeve cracking or shrinkage.
- Do not use halogenated organic cleaning agents. If cleaning is necessary, use approved agents and ensure the capacitor is dried for at least 10 minutes with hot air (not exceeding the upper temperature limit) after cleaning.
- Avoid using halogenated organic fixing or coating agents, especially covering the sealing area.
- Dispose of capacitors according to local industrial waste regulations.
