Usage Precautions
- Polarity: Observe correct polarity; use non-polarized capacitors if polarity is uncertain or reversible.
- Voltage: Do not apply reverse voltage or DC voltage exceeding rated voltage. Use within rated voltage for optimal lifespan. Surge voltage is the maximum temporary voltage.
- Ripple Current: Keep ripple current below rated value to prevent overheating, capacitance drop, and shortened lifespan. Peak ripple voltage plus DC voltage must be less than rated voltage.
- Temperature: Operate within the rated temperature range (-40 to +105). Lower ambient temperatures significantly extend lifespan.
- Storage: Long-term storage can increase leakage current, especially at higher temperatures. Leakage current decreases after applying voltage. Pre-charge if high leakage current is detrimental.
- Frequent Charge/Discharge: Not suitable for circuits with frequent charge/discharge cycles due to potential capacity reduction and damage from heat.
- Installation: Avoid mechanical stress on leads or body during installation and soldering.
- Soldering: Avoid prolonged exposure to high temperatures during soldering to prevent damage to the sleeve.
- Cleaning: Do not use halogenated organic solvents. If cleaning is necessary, use compatible solvents and dry thoroughly with hot air (not exceeding max. temperature).
- Fixatives/Coatings: Avoid halogenated organic compounds and do not seal the capacitor's vent.
- Storage Recommendations: Store in a cool, dry place (35, <75% RH), out of direct sunlight. Shelf life is 12 months; check characteristics if stored longer.
- Disposal: Contact local industrial waste disposal services.
