Usage Precautions

• Polarized: Observe correct polarity to avoid short circuits or damage. Use non-polarized capacitors if polarity is uncertain.
• Voltage Limits: Do not apply reverse voltage or DC voltage exceeding the rated voltage. Recommended to operate at rated voltage for optimal lifespan. Surge voltage is the maximum short-term voltage the capacitor can withstand.
• Ripple Current: Keep ripple current below the rated value to prevent overheating, capacity reduction, and shortened lifespan. The sum of ripple voltage peak and DC voltage should not exceed the rated working voltage.
• Temperature: Operate within the rated temperature range. Exceeding the upper limit significantly reduces lifespan or may activate the safety vent. Lower ambient temperatures extend lifespan (doubles for every 10 decrease).
• Storage: High storage temperatures increase leakage current. If leakage current is a concern after prolonged storage, pre-charge the capacitor before use. Recommended storage: below 35, <75% RH, out of direct sunlight. Shelf life: 12 months. Check electrical characteristics and solderability after 12 months.
• Frequent Charge/Discharge: Not suitable for circuits with frequent charge/discharge cycles, as it can lead to capacity reduction or damage due to heat.
• Installation: Avoid poor installation or stress on leads, which can damage internal structure, leading to high leakage current or leaks. Ensure good soldering, proper PCB hole spacing, do not bend leads excessively, and avoid bending/twisting the capacitor body during soldering.
• Soldering/Dipping: Prolonged or excessive heat during tin dipping or soldering can cause sleeve cracking or secondary shrinkage.
• Cleaning: Do not use halogenated organic solvents. If cleaning is necessary, use compatible cleaning agents and dry with hot air (not exceeding the capacitor's upper temperature limit) for at least 10 minutes. Do not store in cleaning solutions or sealed containers after cleaning.
• Fixatives/Coatings: Avoid using halogenated organic series fixatives and coatings. Do not seal the capacitor's sealing area with fixatives or coatings.
