Power Derating Curve See Figure 2. Rated power is the maximum value for continuous operation at 70. Derating is required above 70 according to the curve.
Fusing Characteristics Defined as significant increase in resistance when subjected to specified overload, causing current to drop below 1/50 of the initial test current. Fusing time is the time from applying overload to fusing.
Fusing Time Requirements Under specified rated current multiples overload conditions, fusing time should comply with tables. (See Tables 3-1, 3-2, 3-3 for details). Fusing time can be customized.
Impact Resistance Test involves repeatedly switching on/off for 100 cycles (2s on, 2s off) without open circuit. (See Figure 3 for circuit diagram). Capacitor C and resistor R values are based on customer requirements.

5 Withstand Soldering Heat Dip lead in solder pot (35010) for 3.50.5s, depth 2+0/-0.5mm from body. Recover 1h, measure resistance, calculate change rate. Resistance change: R(1%R+0.05)
6 Rapid Temperature Change Cycle: Low temp (-553) (30min), room temp (2-3min), high temp (1553) (30min), room temp (2-3min). Repeat 5 cycles. Recover 1-2h, measure resistance, calculate change rate. Resistance change: R(1%R+0.05)
7 Endurance Place in constant temperature oven (703). Apply rated DC voltage, 1.5h on, 0.5h off, cycle for 1000h. Recover 1-4h, measure resistance, calculate change rate. Resistance change: R(5%R+0.1)
8 Lead Strength Tensile: 10N for 10s; Bending: 5N load on lead, tilt body approx. 90 in (2-3)s, then bend in opposite direction (2 bends total). Resistance change: R(1%R+0.05).
9 Vibration Vibration rate 10-500Hz, amplitude 0.75mm or acceleration 98m/s (whichever is smaller); vibration along Z, X, Y axes for 2h each (total 6h), period 1min (10-55-10Hz). Measure resistance, calculate change rate. 1) Appearance: No mechanical damage. 2) Resistance change: R(1%R+0.05)
10 Climatic Sequence Dry heat; Cyclic damp heat (Db); Cold; Low pressure; Cyclic damp heat (Db); DC load. Resistance change: R(5%R+0.1). Insulation resistance: 100M.
11 Accidental Overload Apply 5, 10, 16 times rated power overload for 5min or until open circuit. Sample placed inside single-layer wire mesh cylinder at 253mm from body. Wire mesh cylinder does not ignite.
