Fusing Characteristic Defined as significant increase in resistance when overloaded, causing current to drop to below 1/50 of initial test current. Fusing time is time from application of overload to fusing.
Fusing Time Requirements Under specified rated current overload multiples, fusing time should meet table requirements. (See Table 3-1 for standard and high lightning surge types; Table 3-2 for explosion-proof types; Table 3-3 for semi-fusing types). Fusing time can be customized.
Impact Resistance Test according to Figure 3 (repeatedly switch K1 ON for 2S and OFF for 2S, 100 times). Resistor should not be open-circuited. (Capacitor C selection based on customer requirements, default 10uF. Resistor R value selection based on circuit, calculated as internal resistance, 20W power rating, 0.8 power factor, typically 20W for resistors under 10W, 5.1K 5%).

11 Accidental Overload Install sample in single-layer wire mesh cylinder 253mm from resistor body. Apply 5, 10, 16 times rated power overload for 5min or until open circuit. Wire mesh cylinder does not ignite.
