Application Notes

  • Adjustment force should be less than 4.9N (500gf).
  • Avoid excessive force on the sliding part during adjustment to prevent deformation or damage.
  • Insert adjustment driver perpendicular to the sliding part.
  • Reflow soldering is recommended; flow soldering is not usable.
  • Take care to prevent flux and solder scattering on the resistor surface and sliding contact during soldering.
  • This product is not washable.
  • Handle with care.
  • Adhesives for slider fixing are not recommended due to potential contact instability.
  • Excessive soldering time or temperature may impair product functions.
  • For reflow soldering, cream solder thickness should be 100-150m. Ensure appropriate solder amount to avoid insufficient bonding or solder bridges.
  • Recommended soldering conditions: Reflow (within 2 times, peak temp. within 260 for 10s, 230 for 40s); Hand soldering (tip temp. 40010, 3s+1s/-0s).
  • This product is not designed for high-risk applications such as human life support or nuclear-related equipment. Implement fail-safe designs with protective circuits or redundant systems for safety-critical applications.
  • If wiring patterns are located directly beneath the product after mounting, ensure insulation measures with resist or similar materials.
  • Refer to EIAJ RCR-2191A for additional guidelines on potentiometer application.

Product Storage Condition

  • Recommended storage: Normal temperature (5 to 35 ), normal humidity (45% to 85% RH).
  • Storage period: 6 months from delivery.
  • Store in original packaging without applying stress. If opened, use appropriate moisture/gas-proof measures.
  • Avoid storage under direct sunlight or in corrosive gas atmospheres.

Marking

Marking uses two digits. The first digit represents significant figures, and the second digit represents the quantity of zeros that follow. For E series, significant digits are represented by specific alphabets (e.g., 1.5 is E, 2.2 is J). Example: 1.5 k is E3, 2.2 k is J4.

Taping Specification

  • Taping Direction: Refer to attached drawing and Fig. 2.
  • Cover Tape Peeling Strength: 0.1N to 0.7N.
  • Taping Method: Refer to Fig. 1. Includes minimum vacant positions (100mm) at start/end, non-adhesion (20mm MIN.) and leader tape (150mm MIN.). Clockwise winding.
  • Taping Quantity: 2,500 pcs/reel (excluding fractions).
