Technical Specifications
| Item | Description |
| Polarity | DC electrolytic capacitors are polarized. Ensure correct polarity to prevent short circuits or damage. Use bipolar capacitors when polarity is uncertain. DC electrolytic capacitors are not suitable for AC applications. |
| Bipolar Capacitors Usage | Suitable for pulse circuits and polarity reverse circuits. Not applicable for pure AC or high ripple current circuits. |
| Voltage Application | Do not exceed the rated voltage. Recommended working voltage is 70-80% of rated voltage for extended life. Exceeding rated voltage increases leakage current and may cause damage. |
| Ripple Current | Do not allow excessive ripple current to pass through the capacitor. Ripple current should not exceed the allowable limit, generally not more than 80% of the rated value. Exceeding limits causes heating, capacitance reduction, and damage. |
| Charge/Discharge Circuits | For circuits with rapid charge and discharge cycles, use specially designed capacitors to prevent damage, capacitance decrease, and heat rise. |
| Operating Temperature | Capacitor characteristics vary with temperature. Lower temperatures ensure longer life. Higher temperatures increase capacitance and leakage current, decreasing tg. Lower temperatures decrease capacitance and leakage current, increasing tg. |
| Temperature and Life Relationship | Capacitor life is related to operating temperature. A 10 reduction in temperature generally doubles the lifespan compared to rated temperature. Formula provided for calculation: Ls = L0 * 2^((T0-Tx)/10) * (I0/Ix)^m where L0 is useful life at ripple current I0 and max temp T0; T0 is max operating temp; Tx is actual operating temp; I0 is rated ripple current; Ix is actual ripple current; m is an exponent (typically 1.5-2.5); T is temperature difference. |
| Operating Frequency | Capacitance is usually measured at 100Hz or 120Hz. Capacitance decreases and tg increases with higher frequencies, leading to increased ambient temperature. |
| Storage and Usage | For capacitors stored for a long time, leakage current may increase and withstand voltage may decrease. Before use, gradually apply DC voltage up to the rated voltage. |
| Case Insulation | The capacitor case is not insulated from the cathode terminal. If insulation is required, implement insulation measures at the capacitor's mounting point. |
| Terminal/Lead Force | Do not apply excessive force to terminals or leads to prevent breakage, separation, or internal connection failure. |
| Bending Leads | When bending leads for horizontal mounting, maintain a 2mm safe spacing from the capacitor body to avoid internal structural damage. |
| Circuit Board Cleaning | Use recommended cleaning solvents like methanol, isopropanol, ethanol, isobutanol, petroleum ether, propane, and general detergents. Avoid halogenated solvents (trichlorethylene, xylene, acetone) to protect the sleeve, marking, and sealing materials. |
| Soldering | Maintain distance between the soldering iron and the plastic insulated sleeve. When dipping in solder, recommended temperature is within 260 for no more than 10 seconds to prevent damage. |
| Hole Layout on PCB | Ensure mounting hole spacing on the circuit board matches lead spacing to avoid stress on leads, short circuits, or circuit damage. Consider hole layout carefully to prevent solder splashing onto the capacitor body. |
