Technical Specifications
| Spec | Description |
| Part Name | E-CAP |
| Series | RE Series |
| Part NO. | ALL |
| Date | 2018-3-3 |
| Polarity | DC electrolytic capacitors are polarized. Ensure correct polarity to avoid short circuits or damage. Use bipolar capacitors when polarity is uncertain. Not suitable for AC applications. |
| Bipolar Capacitors Usage | Suitable for pulse circuits and polarity reverse circuits. Not applicable in pure AC or high ripple current circuits. |
| Recommended Working Voltage | 70% - 80% of rated voltage for extended life. Do not exceed rated voltage. |
| Ripple Current | Do not exceed allowable limits, generally not more than 80% of rated current. Excessive ripple current causes heat, capacitance reduction, and damage. |
| Special Design Capacitors | Required for circuits with rapid charge and discharge cycles to prevent damage, capacitance decrease, and heat rise. |
| Operating Temperature | Capacitor characteristics vary with temperature. Lower temperatures ensure longer life. |
| Temperature and Life Relationship | Life is generally doubled for every 10 decrease in operating temperature from the rated temperature. Formula provided for calculation. |
| Operating Frequency | Capacitance is typically measured at 100Hz or 120Hz. Capacitance decreases and tg increases with higher frequencies, leading to increased ambient temperature. |
| Storage Treatment | For capacitors stored long-term, gradually apply rated DC voltage before use to address increased leakage current and reduced withstand voltage. |
| Case Insulation | The capacitor case is not insulated from the cathode terminal. Insulation measures are required at the mounting point if case insulation is necessary. |
| Handling | Do not apply excessive force to terminals and leads to prevent breakage, separation, or internal connection failure. |
| Bending Leads | Maintain a 2mm safe spacing from the capacitor body when bending leads for horizontal mounting to avoid internal structural damage. |
| Circuit Board Cleaning | Use recommended solvents (Methanol, isopropanol, ethanol, isobutanol, petroleum ether, propanol, general detergents) for cleaning. Avoid halogenated solvents (trichlorethylene, xylene, acetone) to protect sleeve, marking, and sealing materials. |
| Soldering | Keep soldering iron away from plastic sleeves. Recommended: within 260 for no more than 10 seconds when dipping in solder bath to prevent damage. |
| Hole Layout on PCB | Mounting hole spacing should match lead spacing. Incorrect spacing can cause stress on leads, short circuits, or damage. Consider hole layout carefully to prevent solder splashing onto the sleeve. |
