Technical Specifications
| Specification | Description |
| Polarity | DC electrolytic capacitors are polarized. Polarity is marked on the capacitor body. Use bipolar capacitors when polarity is not determined or unknown. DC electrolytic capacitors cannot be used for AC applications. |
| Bipolar Capacitors Usage | Suitable for pulse circuits and polarity reverse circuits. Not applicable in pure AC or high ripple current circuits. |
| Recommended Working Voltage | 70% - 80% of rated voltage to prolong life. Do not exceed rated voltage. |
| Ripple Current | Do not exceed the allowable ripple current limit, generally not more than 80% of the rated current. Excessive ripple current causes heat, capacitance reduction, and damage. |
| Frequency Considerations | Capacitance is typically measured at 100Hz or 120Hz. Capacitance decreases and tg increases with higher frequencies, leading to increased ambient temperature. |
| Storage and Handling | For capacitors stored long-term, apply rated DC voltage gradually before use to address potential increases in leakage current and reduced withstand voltage. |
| Case Insulation | The capacitor case is not insulated from the cathode terminal. Insulation measures are required at the mounting point if case insulation is necessary. |
| Terminal/Lead Force | Do not apply excessive force to terminals or leads to prevent breakage, separation, or internal connection failure. |
| Bending Leads | Maintain a 2mm safe spacing between the capacitor body and the bend point when forming horizontal mounting to avoid internal structural damage. |
| Circuit Board Cleaning | Avoid halogenated solvents (e.g., trichlorethylene, xylene, acetone). Recommended solvents include methanol, isopropanol, ethanol, isobutanol, petroleum ether, propane, and commercial detergents. |
| Soldering | Keep soldering irons away from plastic sleeves. Recommended solder bath temperature: within 260 for no more than 10 seconds. |
| Hole Layout on PCB | Mounting hole spacing should match lead spacing to avoid stress on leads. Consider hole layout to prevent solder splashing onto the capacitor sleeve. |
