Testing and Inspection
Appearance Inspection: 100% visual inspection under 5-10x magnification for deformation, damage, dents, cracks, burrs, foreign matter, delamination, or peeling of metallization layer on the lead-out terminals.
Standard Temperature Test: 100% testing at room temperature to ensure electrical parameters comply with Table 2.
Sampling Plan: Based on batch size as per Table 3 for capacitance, dissipation factor, insulation resistance, dielectric withstand voltage, dimensions, appearance, and solderability.
Inspection Methods:
- Capacitance: Tested at 1MHz50KHz (for Class I 1000pF, Class II 100pF) or 1KHz50Hz (for Class I >1nF, Class II 100pF < C 10uF). Must be within specified tolerance.
- Dissipation Factor: Tested at the same frequencies as capacitance. Requirements vary by dielectric type and capacitance value.
- Insulation Resistance: Tested between terminals at rated voltage (or 500V if UR > 500V). Reading time 2min. Class I: Ri 10000M. Class II: CR 25nF, Ri 4000M; CR > 25nF, RiCR 100s.
- Dielectric Withstand Voltage: Applied voltage is 2.5UR (UR200V), 2UR (UR=250V), 1.5UR (500VUR<1000V), or 1.2UR (1000V) for (51)s. Surge current 50mA. Capacitors must show no breakdown, arcing, or visible damage.
- Dimensions: Checked with appropriate precision measuring tools as per Table 1.
- Appearance: Visual inspection under adequate light or 10x microscope. Must be free from defects as described in appearance inspection.
- Solderability: Immersed in solder bath (2455) for 2s. Solderability rate > 90%.
Storage and Shelf Life
- Storage Period: One year.
- Recommended Usage: Within 6 months after purchase to ensure solderability.
- Storage Temperature: -10 to 40.
- Storage Humidity: 30% to 70% RH.
