Testing Conditions and Methods
Appearance Inspection
Visual inspection or with a 5-10x magnifier, 100% check for: no deformation or damage, no dents, cracks, burrs, foreign matter adhesion, delamination, or metallization layer peeling.
Standard Temperature Test
100% testing at room temperature. Electrical parameters must comply with Table 2.
Sampling Plan (Table 3)
Sampling based on batch size for capacitance, dissipation factor, insulation resistance, dielectric withstand voltage, dimensions, appearance, and solderability.
Inspection Methods (Table 4)
- Capacitance: Tested at 1MHz50KHz (Class I 1000pF, Class II 100pF) or 1KHz50Hz (Class I >1nF, Class II 100pF < C 10uF). Must be within specified tolerance.
- Dissipation Factor (tan): Tested at same frequencies as capacitance. Requirements vary by dielectric class and voltage.
- Insulation Resistance: Tested between terminals with specified voltage and reading time. Requirements vary by dielectric class and capacitance.
- Dielectric Withstand Voltage: Applied voltage is a multiple of rated voltage based on UR, for 51s, surge current 50mA. Capacitor should show no breakdown, arcing, or visible damage.
- Dimensions: Checked with appropriate precision measuring tools against Table 1.
- Appearance: Visual inspection under adequate light or 10x microscope. Should be free from defects.
- Solderability: Immersed in solder liquid (2455 for 2s). Tinning rate >90%.
Storage Method
Storage period is one year. Recommended to use within 6 months of purchase to ensure solderability. Storage temperature: -10~40. Storage humidity: 30~70% RH.
