Description for Resistance Value Code and Marking of Thick Film Chip Resistor
Resistance Value Code
All the resistance value code of thick film chip resistor is corresponding with the marking.
Marking
- E-24 Series (0603, 5%): Three digits. First two are significant figures, third is the power of 10 multiplier.
- E-24 Series (0603, 1% & 0.5%): Three digits with an underline below the marking.
- E-96 Series & E-24 Series (0805, 1206, 1210, 2010, 2512, 4R02, 4R03, 1% & 0.5%): Four digits. First three are significant figures, fourth is the power of 10 multiplier.
- E-96 Series (0603): Three codes. First two digits are E-96 resistance code, third letter is the multiplier code.
- Decimal point is represented by "R".
- Jumper resistors are represented by "0".
- 0201, 0402: No marking on the glass side.
- For non-IEC standard series, marking uses the closest IEC E24 series nominal resistance marking method.
- Special marking requirements are printed as per negotiated results.
Chip Resistor Instructions for Use
Application in Special Environments
Performance may be affected in the following environments:
- Use in various types of liquids (water, oils, chemicals, organic solvents).

- Exposure to sea winds or corrosive gases (Cl2, H2S, Nh3, SO2, No2 etc.).

- Sealing or coating with resin or other coating materials.
- Use involving unclean solder or cleaning with water or water-soluble cleaning agents after soldering.
Precautions on Use
- Avoid applying power exceeding normal rated power, as it may negatively affect product performance and reliability.
- Handle with care when picking up with tweezers to avoid chipping the protective coating or resistor body.
- Ensure the soldering tip does not touch the product during manual installation.
