Resistance Value Code and Marking Rules
- Marking:
- E-24 Series (0603, 5%): Three digits (significant digits + number of zeros).
- E-24 Series (0603, 1% & 0.5%): Three digits with an underline.
- E-96 Series & E-24 Series (1% & 0.5%) for 0805, 1206, 1210, 2010, 2512, 4R02, 4R03: Four digits (significant digits + number of zeros).
- E-96 Series (0603): Three codes (two digits for E-96 resistance code + one letter for multiplier code).
- Decimal point denoted by "R".
- Jumper resistor denoted by "0".
- 0201, 0402 sizes are not marked.
- Non-IEC standard series: Marked using the closest IEC E24 series nominal resistance marking method.
- Special marking requirements are printed as per negotiated agreements.
Chip Resistor Instructions for Use
- Environmental Considerations: Performance may be affected in special environments such as: liquids (water, oil, chemicals), direct sunlight, dusty places, corrosive gases (sea winds, Cl2, H2S, NH3, SO2, NO2), static electricity or electromagnetic waves, proximity to flammable items, sealing with resin/coatings, and cleaning with unclean solder or water-based agents.
- Precautions:
- Avoid exceeding normal rated power.
- Handle with care when picking up with tweezers to prevent chipping.
- Ensure soldering tip does not touch the product during manual installation.
