- Standard Atmospheric Conditions: Ambient temperature 15-35C, Relative humidity 45-85%, Air pressure 86-106kPa. For critical measurements: Ambient temperature 202C, Relative humidity 60-70%, Air pressure 86-106kPa.
- Operating Temperature Range: -40C to +105C
- Nominal Capacitance: Measured at 120Hz12Hz, Series equivalent circuit, 0.5Vrms +1.5~2.0V.DC, 202C. Shall be within specified tolerance.
- Leakage Current: Measured after connecting with a 1k10 resistor in series for 2 minutes. Criteria: 0.01CV or 3A (whichever is greater).
- Dissipation Factor: Measured at nominal capacitance, frequency, voltage, and temperature. Must be within specified parameters.
- Impedance: Measured at 100kHz, 202C, 2mm max. from sealing rubber. Must be within specified parameters.
- Load Life Test: Per IEC60384-4 No. 4.13. Tested at Maximum operating temperature 2C with DC bias and rated ripple current for Rated life +48/0 hours. Criteria: Leakage current specified value, Capacitance Change within 20% of initial value, Dissipation Factor 200% of specified value, no electrolyte leakage.
- Shelf Life Test: Stored at Maximum operating temperature 2C for 1000+48/0 hours with no voltage applied. Criteria: Leakage current 200% of specified value, Capacitance Change within 20% of initial value, Dissipation Factor 200% of specified value, no electrolyte leakage.
- Maximum Permissible Ripple Current: Maximum AC current at 100kHz and maximum operating temperature. Frequency multipliers provided for different frequencies.
- Terminal Strength: Tensile and bending strength tests applied to terminals. Criteria: No noticeable changes, breakage, or looseness.
- Temperature Characteristics: Capacitance, DF, and impedance measured at various temperatures (-40C, +20C, +105C). Criteria specified for capacitance change, dissipation factor, leakage current, and impedance ratio at -40C.
- Surge Test: Applied surge voltage for 305 seconds, repeated 1000 times. Criteria: Leakage current specified value, Capacitance Change within 15% of initial value, Dissipation Factor specified value, no electrolyte leakage.
- Change of Temperature Test: Temperature cycling test (5 cycles) as per IEC60384-4 No.4.7. Criteria: Leakage current specified value, Dissipation Factor specified value, no electrolyte leakage.
- Damp Heat Test: Exposed to 90-95% RH at 402C for 5008 hours as per IEC60384-4 No.4.12. Criteria: Leakage current specified value, Capacitance Change within 10% of initial value, Dissipation Factor 120% of specified value, no electrolyte leakage.
- Solderability Test: Tested at 2455C for 30.5s. Criteria: Soldering wetting time < 3s, 95% surface wetting.
- Vibration Test: Tested for 2 hours in 3 mutually perpendicular directions (10Hz ~ 55Hz, 1.5mm peak amplitude). Criteria: No intermittent contacts, open/short circuits, damage to terminals/electrodes, mechanical damage, electrolyte leakage, or swelling. Markings legible.
- Resistance to Solder Heat Test: Terminals immersed in solder bath at 2605C for 101s or 40010C for 10.1s. Criteria: Leakage current specified value, Capacitance Change within 5% of initial value, Dissipation Factor specified value, no electrolyte leakage.
- Vent Test: Applies to products with vents (diameter 6.3mm). DC test with reversed polarity. Criteria: Vent operates with no dangerous conditions.
