Soldering Conditions

Operating Precautions

  • Polarity: Do not reverse polarity; it can shorten lifespan due to increasing leakage current or short circuit.
  • Prohibited Circuits: Avoid use in high impedance, coupling, time constant, series connection for higher withstand voltage, or circuits sensitive to leakage current fluctuations.
  • Over voltage: Do not exceed rated voltage, even momentarily, to prevent short circuits.
  • Rapid Charge/Discharge: Unsuitable if instantaneous current exceeds 10A or 10 times allowable ripple current. A protection circuit is recommended.
  • Soldering Considerations: Adhere to specified conditions to prevent leakage current increase and capacitance reduction. Do not reuse assembled or energized capacitors. Leakage current may increase after one year of storage; pre-condition if necessary. Radial lead type capacitors are not suitable for reflow soldering unless confirmed. Handle with care after soldering to avoid mechanical damage.
  • Storage: Store between 5-35 (or 35-85 for <3 months), <75% RH, away from direct sunlight, water, salt, oil, condensation, toxic gases, UV, or radioactive rays. Shelf life varies by packaging type (e.g., 36 months before unpacking for radial lead type in plastic bag).
  • Cleaning: Compatible with HCFC, higher alcohol system, petroleum system, terpene system, water system with surface active agent. Consult manufacturer for specific methods (soak, ultrasonic, boil, vapor).
