Operating Precautions
- Polarity: Do not reverse polarity.
- Prohibited Circuits: High impedance, coupling, time constant, series connection for higher voltage, or circuits sensitive to leakage current.
- Over voltage: Do not exceed rated voltage.
- Rapid charge and discharge: Unsuitable if instantaneous current exceeds 10A or 10 times allowable ripple current. A protection circuit may be required.
- Soldering: Adhere to specified conditions to prevent leakage current increase, capacitance reduction, or cosmetic defects.
- Handling after soldering: Do not tilt, bend, twist, or move PCBs by gripping the capacitor. Ensure no contact with other components when stacking PCBs.
- Storage: Store between 5-35C (or <3 months at 35-85C), <75% RH, away from direct sunlight, water, brine, oil, condensation, poisonous gases, UV, or radioactive rays. Use within 1 year after delivery (unsealed) and within 1 month after opening the bag. Capacitors stored for over 3 years should be discarded.
Notes on Circuit Designs
- Performance: Use within specified rating and performance ranges.
- Operating temperature and ripple current: Exceeding limits can shorten life or increase leakage current.
- Leakage current: May rise slightly after soldering but self-repairs with DC voltage application.
- Applied voltage: Recommended to be less than rated voltage for reliability. Peak AC+DC voltage should not exceed rated voltage.
- Failure mode: Primarily short circuit, leading to overheating and potential case rupture.
