Operating Precautions

  • Polarity: Do not reverse polarity.
  • Prohibited Circuits: High impedance, coupling, time constant, series connection for higher withstand voltage, or circuits sensitive to leakage current.
  • Over Voltage: Do not exceed rated voltage.
  • Sudden Charge/Discharge: Not recommended; use protection circuits if rush current exceeds 10A or 10x allowable ripple current.
  • Soldering Considerations: Adhere to specified conditions to prevent increased leakage current and capacitance reduction. Do not reuse assembled or energized capacitors.
  • Storage: Store between 5-35 (or 35-85 for <3 months), <75% RH, away from direct sunshine, water, salt, oil, condensation, poisonous gases, UV, or radioactive rays. Unseal just before use and use within 1 month. Store within 1 year after delivery before unsealing.
  • Cleaning: Refer to manufacturer's recommendations for cleaning agents and methods (e.g., HCFC, alcohol, petroleum, water-based solvents).
  • Circuit Design Notes: Operate within specified ranges. High temperatures or excessive ripple current can shorten life. Leakage current may slightly increase after soldering but can self-repair with DC voltage. Applied voltage ideally <80% of rated voltage. Failure mode is primarily short circuit.
